The evolution of light
As an architectural author, designer, and educator, I use film to experiment with the materiality, dynamics, and poetics of what spatial-temporal constructs can do to uplift human experience. I created the BEAM film to better understand the fusion between virtual and physical realities, as the animated light beam projects cinematically into a room's corner throughout its evolution. Within the BEAM film, I "bend" light through its character and behavior to morph this sensorial stimulus from that which is observed outwardly, into that which is absorbed inwardly. This experiential transformation captures how, like light, all humanity has potential to reach transcendent levels by deepening one's understanding and expression of self, as an individual and collective. The evolution of light through the BEAM film is my way of capturing this poetic journey to illuminate the soul.
